World War 2

Unbroken & Unbroken Path to Redemption

I had every intention of reading Laura Hillenbrand’s book Unbroken but made a last minute decision to go straight to watching the film adaptation with the kids. The film is the story of World War II hero Louis Zamperini’s and his fight to survive a plane crash, 47 days drifting at sea and being captured and held prisoner by the Japanese. Prior to enlisting in the military Zamperini qualified and ran in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin hosted by none other than Adolph Hitler. This is an excellent film but it’s follow up film Unbroken: Path to Redemption will be a favorite among Christians. This sequel film tells the story of Zamperini’s return to the U.S. and his struggle with PTSD that leads him to a Billy Graham tent revival and salvation in the Lord.
